Course Description: This course delves into the biblical foundations of education, exploring the divine mandate to teach and learn. Students will examine key biblical texts and theological principles that inform educational practices. Through a historical and theological lens, the course will analyze the development of Christian education, the role of the teacher, and the purpose of learning. Students will also explore practical applications of biblical principles to contemporary educational contexts, including curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Using key biblical passages that support the importance of education, Explain the divine mandate to teach and learn as revealed in Scripture. 2. Analyze the role of the Holy Spirit in the educational process. 3. Articulate a theological framework for Christian education that integrates biblical truth, cultural relevance, and pedagogical effectiveness. 4. Examine the relationship between faith and learning, and the role of education in spiritual formation. 5. Evaluate various educational theories and methodologies in light of Christian worldview. 6. Examine the role of the Christian teacher as a spiritual leader and role model.
