This course will prepare students to provide healing and hope to members of the local and world community through the application of biblical counseling principles and professional excellence. The student will learn to model leadership in the integration of sound Christian counseling in caregiving service and ministry. Students are trained from a Christian worldview in order to assist people in the prevention and resolution of the problems of human living and to do so by reflecting the character of Christ within their personal, professional, and ministerial lives. As a result of completing this course, the student will be able to: 1. Demonstrate how they are called to be one of God’s instruments of change in the lives of others. 2. Apply biblical truth to life and ministry through appropriately utilizing Biblical interpretation of scriptures. 3. Encourage others along their individual path of progressive sanctification through the process of redemptive relationship building. 4. Understand their counseling role as an active ambassador of the King of Kings. 5. Lead others to heart change through the four-step process of love, know, speak, and do.
