BI 805: Advanced Gospels

This course examines the comparisons and differences among the four gospels and looks at special topics of interest. Special focus is given to an exposition of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John with emphasis on the biblical theology of these books, their genre, and application.On completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Explain the basic historical context for the four Gospels including the basic religious and cultural ideas of the world in which the Gospels were written. 2. Relate the basic persons, events, and stories of the earliest Christians as presented in the Gospels. 3. Evaluate the biblical theology of each Gospel, including the contributions that each one makes to the Canon as a whole. 4. Appraise valid principles and in developing relevant applications from the four Gospels.
