This course explores how God interacts with humanity through creation and the biblical covenants, from Genesis to the coming of Christ. We will examine theologically rich concepts—Creation, Fall, Flood, Abrahamic promise, Mosaic law, Davidic kingship, and the New Covenant—to see how each covenant advances God’s redemptive plan. The gospel of Jesus Christ “is not complete without discussing our glorious Creator, the bad news of rebellion, [and] the good news of…reconciliation”. Therefore, students will learn to connect creation doctrine within the unfolding redemptive history of Scripture. Course Objectives: • Explain Biblical Covenants: Identify and describe the major biblical covenants (Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Mosaic, Davidic, New Covenant) and their scriptural foundations. • Integrate Creation and Redemption: Articulate how the doctrine of creation is foundational to the gospel story, and why a historical Creation and Fall are crucial for understanding redemptive history • Analyze Theological Texts: Interpret key Old Testament passages about covenants in context, using a Reformed Baptist covenantal framework, and critically evaluate how each covenant reveals God’s character and promises. • Apply Theology Concepts to Genesis and Covenants: Discuss contemporary implications of theology (e.g. worldview, ethics, evangelism) and defend the importance of Genesis 1–11 (Creation, Fall, Flood, Babel) as literal history for Christian doctrine
