BIBL303: Old Testament Survey

This course surveys the books, themes, and historical setting of the Old Testament within the overarching story of Scripture. Students examine the purpose, authorship, and audience of each Old Testament book while exploring the major theological themes that shape the biblical narrative. Particular attention is given to how the Old Testament reveals the problem of human sin, establishes God’s covenant relationship with Israel, and prepares the way for the coming Messiah. Through the study of the Law, Prophets, and Writings, students develop a framework for understanding how the Old Testament contributes to God’s redemptive plan and informs the message of the New Testament.
