This course provides the foundation for understanding the "language of business" by accounting for assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expense through financial statement preparation, interpretation, budgeting, and internal control, emphasizing ministry and non-profit accounting processes.Course objectives: 1. LO 1 Identify internal control procedures to safeguard ministry assets 2. LO 2 Identify cash and accrual accounting as it relates to ministry 3. LO 3 Prepare budget versus actual reports and ministry analysis 4. LO 4 Describe effective ministry asset management 5. LO 5 Discern biblical ethical ministry accounting practices 6. LO 6 Interpret sources of cash on the Statement of Cash Flows 7. LO 7 Interpret financial statements for decision-making in non-profit accounting
