  • 3.00 Credit Hours

Course Description: The Leader’s Life and Ministry examines the dynamic interplay between personal life, vocation, and leadership in Christian contexts. This course explores how leaders can integrate their faith into their work, maintain a healthy balance between personal and professional responsibilities, and cultivate practices that reflect Christlike leadership. Special attention is given to the unique challenges faced by Christians in secular leadership roles who seek to make their workplace a ministry and by those in church or ministry settings striving to lead faithfully while ministering to those they serve. Through theological reflection, practical strategies, and case studies, students will develop tools for sustaining their vocation with integrity, balance, and purpose. As a result of completing this course, the student will be able to: 1. Articulate a biblical theology of vocation that informs the integration of personal faith and professional leadership. 2. Analyze the unique challenges Christian leaders face in balancing personal well-being, family responsibilities, and professional demands, and identify best practices for maintaining harmony. 3. Develop strategies for Christians in secular leadership roles to create environments that reflect gospel values and serve as opportunities for ministry. 4. Assess how to balance organizational goals with pastoral care responsibilities in church or ministry settings, ensuring leadership practices are both effective and Christ-centered. 5. Identify and apply spiritual, emotional, and physical practices that sustain long-term leadership effectiveness and personal health. 6. Demonstrate how to address complex ethical dilemmas and relational conflicts in leadership roles with wisdom and integrity rooted in Christian principles. 7. Create a comprehensive leadership plan that integrates personal, vocational, and spiritual priorities, fostering a holistic approach to leadership.
