BIBL111: Life of Jesus

This course will introduce students to the namesake of Christianity, Jesus Christ. Students will thoroughly explore Jesus’ life through the Gospels. Students will delve into individual Gospels to understand their authorship, perspective, audience, key themes, date of composition, and relationship to other Gospels. Students will also evaluate the Gospels collectively, taking a horizontal view, to discover Jesus' claims and teachings. Students will briefly explore the person of Jesus, including his messianic claims and claims of being equal to God. Students will also grapple with the topic of personal discipleship and obedience to Jesus’ commands, including the Great Commission and Great Commandment.
