BI 438: Advanced Major Prophets

Course Description This course offers a survey study of the four Major prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel. The student will gain an understanding about the messages of mercy, hope, judgement, and obedience to God’s Laws found throughout these books and given a glimpse into the revelations about the future. (Three credit hours)Course Objectives. On completing this course, students will 1. Orient the Major Prophets within historical and social background of Ancient Israel 2. Gain new insights into the character of God with specific attention to His revelation in the Prophets 3. Appraise the manner in which God interacts with his people in the Prophets 4. Apply the theological witness of the Major Prophet to contemporary issues 5. Articulate the importance of the Major Prophets in the rest of the Old Testament as well as in the New Testament
