CE 450: Bible Teaching Practicum

  • 3.00 Credit Hours

The Student Teaching Practicum is the culminating experience designed to provide aspiring educators with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge and pedagogical skills in authentic classroom settings. Through observation, planning, instruction, and reflection, students will deepen their understanding of effective teaching practices, develop their professional identity, and gain valuable insights into the realities of classroom management, student engagement, and assessment. Students will bridge the gap between theory and practice, gaining firsthand experience and practical skills necessary for success as educators. By actively participating in the teaching-learning process, reflecting on their experiences, and receiving constructive feedback from mentors and peers, students will emerge from the practicum better prepared, more confident, and fully equipped to embark on their journey as effective, and transformative educators with a mission to impact their own student for meaningful Kingdom impact. As a result of completing this class, the student will: 1. Engage in supervised teaching experiences in a classroom setting, and demonstrate proficiency in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate and biblically based instruction that aligns with curriculum standards and student learning needs. 2. Apply evidence-based teaching strategies and differentiated instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with disabilities, English language learners, and gifted learners. 3. Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences, integrating digital tools and platforms to promote student engagement and achievement. 4. Implement strategies for effective classroom management, behavior support, and positive reinforcement, fostering a safe, respectful, and orderly learning environment conducive to student success. 5. Design and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, evaluate learning outcomes, and inform instructional decision-making. 6. Reflect critically on teaching practices, biblical integration, student learning experiences, and professional growth, identifying strengths, areas for improvement, and strategies for continued development. 7. Demonstrate Christian professionalism, and a commitment to the values and responsibilities of the teaching profession, upholding high standards of integrity, empathy, and cultural competence.
