Issues in Christian Education is a dynamic course designed to engage students in critical exploration and analysis of contemporary challenges, trends, and debates within the field of Christian education. This course examines a wide range of issues affecting educational practice, policy, and theology from a Christian perspective. Through interdisciplinary inquiry, case studies, and reflective dialogue, students will develop a deeper understanding of the complexities and opportunities inherent in Christian education in the 21st century. By grappling with contemporary challenges and ethical dilemmas, students will be equipped to contribute thoughtfully and constructively to the ongoing conversation about the role of education in nurturing faith, edifying the believer, and fostering meaningful Kingdom impact. As a result of completing this class, the student will:1. Explore key issues and trends shaping the landscape of Christian education, including historical influences, cultural shifts, and emerging challenges. 2. Analyze current debates and controversies in Christian education, such as the role of religion in public schools, the challenges of religious pluralism, and the tensions between academic freedom and doctrinal orthodoxy. 3. Evaluate the impact of technology on teaching and learning in Christian education, exploring opportunities and risks associated with digital learning environments. 4. Discuss approaches to curriculum development and instructional design that reflect Christian values, beliefs, and priorities, fostering holistic development and character formation in students. 5.
