A comprehensive and chronological study of the life of Christ on earth, based on a study of a harmony of the Gospel accounts. The course focuses on a thematic and chronological view of Christ’s life and ministry, providing an interpretation of key events and discourses and their practical application. It is designed to familiarize the student thoroughly with the Lord’s ministry in order that any portion of the Gospel records may be related to the place, time, and circumstances of Christ’s life on earth.Student Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Recall a basic outline of the life of Christ. 2. Explain the genre of the four Gospels as history, narrative, and theology 3. Evaluate the purpose of each Gospel and what each emphasized about the life of Christ. 4. Discuss the development of Jesus’ teaching and ministry. 5. Describe the purpose of the events in Jesus’ life and their impact on the people to whom He ministered. 6. Explain the strengths and weaknesses of some of the different critical and literary approaches to the study of the four Gospels 7. Analyze some of the modern issues and approaches concerning the life of Christ.
