BI 102: New Testament Survey

A survey of the historical, critical and theological study of the literature of the New Testament. This course includes the 27 books of the New Testament, including Gospels, Acts of the Apostles, Pauline Epistles and the Book of Revelation. As a result of completing this course, the student will:1. Describe the major socio-cultural, economic, and political trends of the Intertestamental period 2. Summarize the major themes, background, genres and content of New Testament literature. 3. Summarize the historical setting, purpose, and message of the New Testament and the books therein 4. Identify the major historical events surrounding the life of Christ and the formation of the church 5. Explain the application of the New Testament to the Christian life.
