EN 501: Thesis Writing-Capstone Project

This course is an independent study course where the student with the assistance of a faculty advisor will complete a thesis research paper or capstone project. It will guide the student through the matters of style, scholarly citation, standard research and application practices, and an expanded array of digital sources. Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Identify sound thesis research practices. 2. Analyze literature as it relates to the student’s research topic. 3. Evaluate and produce scholarly sources suitable for thesis research. 4. Synthesize a thorough literature review from seminal sources and current sourced research. 5. Prepare a thesis paper or capstone project demonstrating scholarly research methods and real world application. 6. Present an oral presentation of thesis findings.
