MI 330: Understanding People Groups

This course investigates cultural anthropology from a distinctly biblical worldview to appreciate the richness and variety of human culture and the context of evangelism. Attention is given to the interface between a biblical worldview and the propositions of cultural anthropology. CL SOC – Cultural AnthropologyStudent Learning Outcomes – As a result of this course the student will do the following: 1. Identify cultural and societal perspectives and apply these perspectives in understanding personal, societal, and global events. 2. Critically analyze issues related to past and contemporary societies from both anthropological and biblical viewpoints. 3. Demonstrate ethical awareness, compassion, and appreciation of diversity in the study of cultural anthropology. 4. Describe and interpret the relationship between culture and individual behavior. 5. Think globally and cross-culturally for the purpose of cross-cultural ministry.
